Introducing the Journal of Pathways Education and Research

Abstract

This inaugural editorial introduces the Journal of Pathways Education and Research and explains the need for a dedicated scholarly forum for pathways education. It outlines the journal’s origins in the 2025 Pathways Education and Research Colloquium, defines its scope across enabling, foundation, vocational and higher education settings, and sets out its commitment to rigorous, inclusive and evidence-based scholarship. The editorial also explains the journal’s continuous-publication model and acknowledges those who contributed to its establishment and inaugural issue.
